As summer is on the horizon of 2017, we often wonder what the heck we’re going to do now as the kids are out of school and have the constant question of “what are we doing today?” Well I’ll save you a headache of figuring out plans and give you some ideas to do around the area.
Princeton-Zimmerman Farmer’s Market
The market offers locally grown and produced fruits, vegetables, plants, baked goods, meat, eggs, soaps, lotions, honey, maple syrups, jams and all other kinds of goods. This usually takes off around April. Bring the kids to pick out some fresh veggies teach them how to make some homemade meals from scratch.
Splash Park - Princeton, MN
The Splash Park offers all kinds of fun for the hot summer days, having a variety of water droppers. The Splash Park also offers table to have lunch at, you can also buy pop, chips and snacks at the gate.
Thunderblades - Princeton, MN
Fun days at thunderblades include skating/blading, music, games, and food. This is usually a fun one for parents and the kids. They also allow for the public to host birthday parties!
Zimmerman Cafe Bar Bowl
Zimmerman Cafe Bar Bowl is a great place when family night is in need. I recently had a family night here myself! There is a cafe on the other side that you can order pizza from and they bring it to your bowling table! Incredibly fun environment!
Lake George Regional Park - St. Francis, MN
As a beach lover, I find this place phenomenal. I usually kayak at a friend's house on the other side of Lake George, but have also spent a day on the beach. The park includes a park for kids, grills, picnic tables, public restroom, a shelter area and a long strip of a sandy beach. Would be a great location for a summer birthday.
Princeton Chili Fest
Princeton hosts a chili fest annually and it’s always worth going! This event takes place on September 23 at the Mille Lacs County Fairgrounds. Bring along the family to taste test all kinds of chili and vote for the best one! You can stop by our booth as we are competing this year!
Como Zoo and Conservatory - St. Paul, MN
The Zoo is a classic for us Minnesotans, seeing new things is always an awesome idea for your kids. Here you can find animals of all kinds, gardens, a gift shop, cafe and the Saint Paul location also has an amusement park with rides for the kids! Great activity to fill the space of a full day!
SEA LIFE Minnesota Aquarium - Bloomington, MN
The SEA LIFE Aquarium is a public aquarium located in the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN. Children can view a variety of under the sea fish in their 1.3 million gallon aquarium. Children can feed the stingrays, plan an overnight stay, plan a wedding or proposal, get a behind-the-scenes tour, or you can even snorkel with the fish! This aquarium is a guarantee for a good and fun time!
