Wow! This past week has been totally insane yet so much fun! My good friend Emily Giles and I had a random idea this past Monday of doing a photo shoot for Mama Gracie’s products with local families, as well as customers.
First, I should introduce myself and Emily! Where are my manners?
I’m Amanda Wilde, the new manager here at Mama Gracie’s. I just so happen to also be a Doula. I am 25 years old, live here in Sherburne County with my husband and two dogs. I first met Faith (the owner), this past winter when I was looking for a place to connect to other individuals in our local birth community. I fell in love with the shop right away! I am excited to bring my knowledge and passion to the shop.
This is Emily Giles, she is not only my friend but also my new business partner in the Doula business. Emily is a loving wife and mother of two beautiful girls! Emily was introduced to Faith and the shop through me, when Emily hired me to be her doula. Emily saw the same wonderful things this shop has to offer local families and was ready to jump on board right away.
So, that’s us! Now back to last week...
We had the funny idea of having me stuff my outfits as if I were pregnant (currently not - see photos). It turned out okay but it was missing that - that special something. Emily, had the great idea of contacting some friends of hers or anyone she knew who had little ones or who were pregnant. We set short 30 minute sessions for free. We had a few little ones come in and one maternity shoot but we needed more. So, we set up an Ad for free 30 minute sessions for Thursday (6/23/2016) and boy was it a HIT! We were totally booked from 12pm-4pm only 3 short hours after posting. Talk about HOLY TRAFFIC on the Facebook page, website, and messages via email. It was amazing the response we received on it.
I was very happy and satisfied that we were able to reach women and families that had never been to the shop before. I truly believe this shop has something to offer everyone, no matter what stage of pregnancy/parenthood they are in. So, if you have yet to come and visit the shop in person - I highly recommend it! There is a great sense of community here. Women supporting women. Connecting, sharing and supporting.
So, what about our final products? Well, they are not ALL posted yet due to final touches being done BUT here is what we do have. They turned out great but don't forget there are more to come!
Meet our shop cuties & beauties!
